Protesters gather in downtown Columbus, Ohio to demonstrate and show solidarity for loss of George Floyd. Columbus was declared under a state of emergency today, and a curfew was imposed starting at 10pm and lasting until 6am. The downtown area was put under lockdown, and the police and SWAT teams cleared the streets firing tear gas, spraying mace, and arresting individuals who chose to stand in their way.
Protesters chanted, “No justice, no peace, fuck the police,” and tried to remain cohesive. Members of the crowd threw water bottles, but were quickly chastised by their neighbors. Fires were started in garbage receptacles, but were then extinguished by conscious members of the group.
