#Repost@coveringpotus・・・ President Trump, when told of the special counsel's appointment, cursed and said, "This is the end of my presidency," according to the Mueller report. In May 2017, then Attorney General Jeff Sessions told Trump that Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein had just appointed Mueller as special counsel. Trump slumped back in his chair, according to notes from Jody Hunt, Sessions’s chief of staff. “Oh my God, this is terrible. This is the end of my presidency. I’m f---ed,” Trump said. Trump further laid into Sessions for his recusal, saying Sessions had let him down. “Everyone tells me if you get one of these independent counsels it ruins your presidency,” Trump said, according to Hunt’s notes. “It takes years and years and I won’t be able to do anything. This is the worst thing that ever happened to me.” The next morning, Trump tweeted, “This is the single greatest witch hunt of a politician in American history!” Go to washingtonpost.com to read more. * Covering POTUS @coveringpotusInstagram18 April 2019 * #RodRosenstein#JeffSessions#DonMcGahn#RobertMueller#MuellerReport#DonaldTrump#WhiteHouse#Congress#Senate#UnitedStates#Freedom#Democracy#HumanRights#Equality#Justice#FreePress#Education#WomensRights#LGBTQ#BlackLivesMatter#NativeAmericans#HealthCare#GunViolence#Immigration#IndigenousPeople#GlobalWarming#ClimateChange#WashingtonPost

#Repost@cnnpolitics・・・ President Donald Trump lamented back in 2017 that the appointment of a special counsel would mark the end of his presidency — and was so furious that he reacted with an expletive, according to the special counsel's redacted report released Thursday. Trump first learned that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed Robert Mueller as special counsel from then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions during a meeting to interview candidates for FBI director in May 2017, the report said. Also present were Sessions' chief of staff Jody Hunt and then-White House counsel Don McGahn. After Sessions delivered the news, "the President slumped back in his chair," the report said, citing notes from Hunt. "Oh my God. This is terrible. This is the end of my Presidency. I'm fucked," Trump said. * CNN Politics @cnnpoliticsInstagram18 April 2019 * #RobertMueller#MuellerReport#RodRosenstein#JeffSessions#DonMcGahn#DonaldTrump#WhiteHouse#Congress#Senate#UnitedStates#Freedom#Democracy#HumanRights#Equality#Justice#FreePress#Education#WomensRights#LGBTQ#BlackLivesMatter#NativeAmericans#HealthCare#GunViolence#Immigration#IndigenousPeople#GlobalWarming#ClimateChange#CNN

I think there’s a Supreme Court decision that said that American citizens who collaborated with Nazi saboteurs were tried by the military. Is that correct? Kavanaugh: That is correct. Graham: I think a couple of them were executed. Kavanaugh: Yeah. Graham: So, if anybody doubts, there’s a longstanding history in this country that your constitutional rights follow you wherever you go. But you don’t have a constitutional right to turn on your own government and collaborate with the enemy of the nation. You’ll be treated differently. What’s the name of the case, if you can recall, that reaffirmed the concept that you can hold one of our own as an enemy combatant if they were engaged in terrorist activities in Afghanistan? Are you familiar with that case? Kavanaugh: Yes, Hamdi v. Rumsfeld. Graham: So the bottom line is-every American citizen, know you have constitutional rights. But you do not have a constitutional right to collaborate with the enemy. There is a body of law well developed long before 9/11 that understood the difference between basic criminal law and the law of armed conflict. Do you understand those difference? Kavanaugh: I do understand that there are different bodies of law of course, senator. • • • • • #STOPtheSTEAL#1111#WakeUp#factsmatter#TakeBackControl#SheepNoMore#VoteRepublican#WalkAway#REDwave#trusttheplan#patriotsfight#patriotsareincontrol#wwg1wga#doitQ#panicinDC#FISA#MAGA#FISAgate#TRUMP#QArmy#BUILDtheWALL#draintheswamp#thestorm •• • • •
