Rest Matters 😴💤 . Rest is important for your body and mind! Rest recharges your ability to deal with commitments and impacts your overall health. This is because your mind and body are intrinsically connected. Lack of sleep and rest manifests physically. When you're overworked, cortisol and adrenalin pump through your blood. The boost of these hormones long-term can lead to depression, weight gain, estrogen dominance, and chronic fatigue— all accelerating the ageing process. When you take the time to rest, you are allowing your body's cells to recharge. . What I do to incorporate rest into my life: 📍Daily mindful meditation practice 📍Epsom salt baths 📍Reading 📍At least a 30-minute walk every day with my dog. No excuses. Even if I am running afterwards (my dog won't run). I use this as reflection and planning time which frees the rest of the day up to work efficiently 📍Massage 📍At least 8 hours of sleep every night- I supplement with Magnesium to help me sleep well 📍Say no to social commitments when things have been a bit busy 📍Avoid phones and devices after 8pm . Why do some people avoid rest? They don't want to seem lazy. They over-train because of fear of failure. They stay up late on phones and devices. Fact is, it's not good to not rest. .
