9.9.2019 I just realized it’s been a year already since this angel joined heaven. It was extremely sad watching her as her cancer progressed but what was beautiful is she was fiercely determined and always as fashionable as possible. I had the privilege of knowing her beautiful light, spirit and personality and still think of her often. It’s indelible the mark some souls leave on your heart. She’s unforgettable. I’m glad she’s not in any pain and is free now. #flyfree#kryzaydarodriguez#kryzayda#angel#ripkryzayda#kyrzaydainspiresme#weremember

Rediscovered after 70 years, now "Renia’s Diary" will be published! Renia is a young girl who dreams of becoming a poet. But Renia is Jewish, she lives in Poland and the year is 1939. The diary chronicles her escape from bombing raids in her hometown, the disappearance of other Jewish families and the creation of the ghetto. But alongside the terror of war, there is also great beauty, as she begins to find her voice as a writer and falls in love for the first time. https://edition.cnn.com/2019/09/12/europe/polish-anne-frank-published-intl-scli/index.html #jewish#history#Poland#legacy#weremember#diary#publication

@_blueriflesociety_ remembers Master Police Officer Peter Lavery 2019 Lavery Memorial Motorcycle Ride On December 30, 2004 while working the evening shift, MPO Lavery was dispatched to a domestic complaint at 57 Mountain View Drive. He was informed by the property owner that there were no weapons on the property. MPO Peter Lavery was fatally shot multiple times with a modified assault weapon by a violent ex-convict and former state correctional guard as he descended the basement steps to conduct the search. MPO Lavery was unaware that the suspect had been improperly terminated from CT Dept. of Probation’s monitoring system. The suspect held Newington Police and neighboring SWAT teams in an extended standoff for 12 hours, then shot himself as police attempted to rescue MPO Lavery. #neverforget#somegaveall#weremember#thinbluelinesfinest#lineofduty#laveryride2019

“On this day, 56 years ago, the bombing of the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church injured dozens of people and killed four little girls. Today we honor the memory of the six lives that were lost 56 years ago in the city of Birmingham. Addie Mae Collins, Carole Robertson, Cynthia Wesley, and Denise McNair were killed in the bombing of 16th Street Baptist Church on the morning of September 15, 1963. Addie Mae's sister, Sarah Collins was severely injured in the blast but survived. That afternoon, Virgil Ware was shot and killed by two young white males while riding the handlebars of his brother's bicycle. Johnnie Robertson was accused of throwing rocks at cars and was shot in the back by a police officer. The horrible events of September 15, 1963 would help lead to the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. We pay homage to the lives of the six children that were lost and recognize how their sacrifice changed the world.”

Today marks 56 years since the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. The bomb was planted by a group of Klansmen just one month after Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his “I have a Dream” speech at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D. C. The victims were four little girls. The brutal death of these girls rocked the nation and drew international attention to the violent struggle for civil rights in Birmingham. #weremember#herstory#blackhistory#blackhistory365#heritage#BRsigma#civilrights#fourlittlegirls
